Application: Dilute 1 part peppermint oil to 2 parts carrier oil before applying topically. Directly inhale. Diffuse.

Precautions: Do NOT use on children under 6. Nursing mother’s should also avoid peppermint oil as it can cause milk supply to decrease.


Allergy Roller Recipe  –  Mix equal parts lavender, peppermint, and lemon. Rub on feet, neck, forehead. For easy application, store in a roller bottle.

Allergy Stick Recipe  –  Melt the following ingredients in a double boiler, adding essential oils last after removing from heat:   0.1 oz beeswax, 1/2 tsp coconut oil, 1/3 tsp olive oil, a few drops of lavender, a few drops of eucalyptus, a few drops of peppermint. Fill 2-3 empty lip balm tubes. To use, rub under eyes and nose.

Bumps and Bruises  –  Dilute and rub on affected area.

Congestion  –  Inhale from hands or rub on chest diluted.

Constipation  –  Dilute and rub on lower abs.

Dandruff  –  Add peppermint oil to shampoo.

Fever  –  Rub on bottom of feet.

Foot Soak  –  Mix peppermint with Epsom Salt. Toss into warm water.

Headache  –  Use roller-ball to roll diluted peppermint and lavender on temples.

Hot Flashes  –  Mix peppermint oil with cold water. Store in spray bottle. Shake and spritz on face when needed.

Heartburn  –  Put 1 drop of peppermint oil in a glass of orange juice, milk, or a spoonful of honey. Ingest.

Muscle Rub  –  Mix coconut oil and peppermint.

Itchy Stick Recipe  –  Melt the following ingredients in a double boiler. Add essential oils last after removing from heat:  3 TBS almond oil, 1 TBS beeswax, 3 drops lavender, 5 drops peppermint, 1 drop tea tree oil. Pour into 6 lip balm tubes. For full instructions visit Hobby Farms.

Indigestion  –  Rub diluted peppermint oil on tummy. Or place 1 drop of peppermint oil in glass of water. Consume.

Mental Clarity  –  Place 1 drop under nose. Or put one drop in your hands or on a tissue. Inhale.

Mouthwash  –  Mix 2 drops of peppermint oil with water. Swish in mouth. Discard.

Nausea  –  Rub diluted peppermint oil on belly. Or drink 1-2 drops in a glass of water.

Rash  –  Rub diluted peppermint oil on affected area.

Ticks  –  Prevent ticks by making a bug spray with peppermint oil and vodka and water. To remove tick from skin, use Q-tip to swab peppermint oil around the ticks head. Tick will release.

Toothache  –  Make mouthwash (see above) and swish or dab on gums to numb pain.

Wake Up  –  Rub diluted peppermint oil on back of neck and on temples.

Weight Loss  –  Feel full faster by inhaling peppermint during meal.


Peppermint oil should NOT be used on babies or nursing mothers. Some studies have shown that there is a possibility that it might slow breathing in babies. It has also been proven to cause milk supply to decrease in nursing mothers.

Peppermint can be used during pregnancy with the following pregnancy symptoms:

Acid Reflux  –  Place 1-2 drop in a glass of water. Consume.

Headaches  –  Rub diluted peppermint oil on forehead and temples. Or inhale from hands.

Nausea  –  Rub diluted on belly. Drink 1-2 drops in a glass of water.

Lip Balm Recipe  (Peppermint Cocoa Lip Balm)  – Melt the following ingredients in a double boiler. Add essential oils last after removing from heat:  1 TBS + 2 tsp sweet almond oil, 1 heaping TBS grated cocoa butter, 1 TBS grated beeswax, 10 drops vitamin E oil, 15 drops peppermint oil. Pour into empty lip balm container (3 ½ oz containers).

Foot Scrub (Tea Tree and Peppermint)  –  Mix the following ingredients: ½ cup sea salt, ½ cup pink salt, 1 TBS Fuller’s Earth Clay, ¾ cup or more of coconut oil, tea tree oil, peppermint oil, rosemary.

Hair Care  –  Add to shampoo or 1-2 drop on brush to maintain healthy hair.

Weight Loss  –  Feel full faster by inhaling peppermint during meal.


All Purpose Cleaner Recipe  –  Mix the following ingredients in a spray bottle: ½ cup white vinegar, 32 oz water, 10 drops peppermint oil.

Cleaner  –  Add peppermint to home-made cleaner for uplifting fragrance.

Fleas  –  Mix the following ingredients in a spray bottle: water, Epsom salt, peppermint oil. Shake well to combine. Spray on pets.

Mice  –  Put 1-2 drops of peppermint oil on a cotton ball. Put cotton ball in problematic area.

Plants  –  Kill aphids and larvae by spaying a water and peppermint oil mixture on plants.

Spiders  –  Prevent spiders. Use a cotton ball to swipe peppermint oil around windows and problem areas.

Trash  –  Put 2-3 drops of peppermint oil on cotton ball and place in bottom of smelly trashcan.
